The new GLC refines everything the last one got right and fixes the things it did not.
Mercedes-Benz sells more GLCs than almost any other single model. The latest generation had to improve without alienating the buyers who made the last one a success.
We drove the GLC 300 over a fortnight of school runs, office commutes and a weekend in Malacca.
Family life
Rear space is generous for two adults and workable for three children on shorter trips. ISOFIX points are easy to reach, and the powered tailgate is a genuine quality-of-life upgrade when your hands are full.
Why it leads the class
The GLC still sets the standard in three areas.

Efficiency
The mild-hybrid four-cylinder returned 9.2L/100km in mixed use — competitive for the class and a noticeable improvement over the outgoing model.
Conclusion
The GLC 300 is not exciting, and it is not trying to be.
It is simply the most complete premium compact SUV you can buy today.
