Sportier silhouette, same substance

The Cayenne Coupe trades a little boot space for a lot of presence — and drives every bit as well as the standard car.

Sloping rooflines on SUVs are a fashion statement more often than a functional improvement. Porsche's Cayenne Coupe at least justifies the shape with sharper handling and a more focused cabin.

We lived with the V6 Coupe for a week to see whether the trade-offs matter in daily use.

On Singapore roads

The Coupe is 20mm lower than the standard Cayenne and feels it through corners — body roll is well suppressed and the active roll stabilisation keeps passengers comfortable on winding B-roads up to Johor.

Worth knowing before you buy

A few practical notes from our time with the car.

• Rear headroom is tighter — tall passengers will notice on longer journeys.
• The sloping tailgate opening is slightly smaller for bulky items.
• COE Category B applies, so budget accordingly.
• Adaptive air suspension is worth having for ramp angles.

Fuel economy

We averaged 11.8L/100km over mixed driving, which is reasonable for a 340bhp SUV weighing over two tonnes.

Conclusion

The Cayenne Coupe is not for everyone, but if you want SUV practicality with coupe styling and genuine Porsche dynamics, it remains the benchmark.

Just measure your tallest passenger before you sign.
