Honda joins the EV race

The e:N1 is Honda's first dedicated electric SUV for Asia — and it arrives with the brand's usual focus on practicality.

Honda has been slower to electrify than rivals, preferring to perfect hybrid technology first. The e:N1 signals a shift — a ground-up EV designed for Asian markets with local production in mind.

We previewed the car at a regional launch event ahead of its Singapore debut.

What we know so far

The e:N1 sits between the HR-V and CR-V in size, with a single-motor front-wheel-drive layout producing around 204bhp. Range is claimed at 450km on the CLTC cycle, which should translate to roughly 380km in real-world Singapore driving.

Expected strengths

Based on our preview drive, three areas stand out.

Launch timing

Honda expects the e:N1 to reach Singapore showrooms in late 2026, with pre-orders opening after the next COE bidding cycle.
