The showcase runs until the end of the month at ION Orchard, and admission is free.
Land Rover has taken over the atrium at ION Orchard for a month-long showcase of the current Range Rover family, and for once the display is worth the detour. All four nameplates are present: the full-size Range Rover, the Sport, the Velar and the Evoque.
The centrepiece is a long-wheelbase Range Rover in Sunset Gold Satin, finished with the four-seat Executive Class rear cabin. It is the first time the specification has been shown publicly in Singapore, and the electrically deployed rear tables draw a crowd every time somebody folds one out.
Alongside the cars, the display includes a cutaway of the MLA-Flex platform and a materials wall showing the recycled textile and Ultrafabrics trim options that now sit alongside leather across the range. Product specialists are on hand through the day, and test drives can be booked from the stand for the following week.
The atrium is busy at weekends and the cars are roped off after seven in the evening, so the timing matters more than usual.
Every model in the family is now offered with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain, and the full-size Range Rover PHEV claims just over 100km of electric range on the WLTP cycle. In practice, that is enough for a week of commuting inside the island without the engine starting.
Mall displays are usually a way to put a car in front of people who were not looking for one. This one is better than that, largely because the long-wheelbase Range Rover is a car most buyers will otherwise only ever see in a brochure.
If you are anywhere near Orchard Road before the end of the month, it is fifteen minutes well spent.
